Our Story

Born from loss. Built on a promise.
After losing our daughter and my father to opiate dependency, and watching fellow firefighters choose suicide because of inadequate treatment for PTSD, my wife and I made a promise. The people we loved deserved better. They needed early intervention, peer support, and access to care that meets them where they are, before crisis takes hold. We believe if they had that access, they would be with us today.
Promises Recovery Inc. is a nonprofit dedicated to changing that reality. We provide evidence-informed mental health and addiction services for first responders, veterans, and underserved communities, with a focus on early intervention, peer support, and removing every barrier that stands between a person and the care they need.
"They needed therapies that work and technology that listens. We built Promises Recovery so no one else has to make the choice we couldn't." — Gary Roberts, Founder
